Guacamole

“Avocado”, lets talk about this fruit today …you all would have seen 1000 of pics on Instagram of Avocado and toast …(I am still not bored of them 😎 )

We all have heard about the benefits it has, but still let me list out a few I found by simply searching on Google  :

  • Abundant in Nutrients like Vitamin K, C, B5, B6, E, Potassium and Folate
  • High in monounsaturated oleic acid, a “heart healthy” fatty acid
  • High in Fiber
  • Helps in lowering Cholesterol
  • Rich in Antioxidants  that protects eyes
  • Eating avocado or avocado oil with veggies can dramatically increase the amount of antioxidants you take in
  • Rich in antioxidants that protects eyes
  • beneficial  for Weight-loss etc etc etc

Even with all the above said benefits , many of us don’t relish the taste of it ….honestly I too don’t like it raw , its too bland …until one day I made a serious attempt to actually taste Guacamole at one of my Friend’s place ….Total game changer since then ….Thanks “Deepti Rathi” for introducing me to the best tasting Avocado dip i.e.  Guacamole ….

I can hog on to a big bowl of it, now 😎

This goes well on salads ,with nachos, Tostitos, Taco, Burrito, toast or just with a spoon

Ingredients
  1. 3 Medium sized Avocado (ripe)
  2. 1 Tbs Lime Juice
  3. 1/2 Cup onion finely chopped
  4. 1 green chili finely chopped
  5. 1/2 Cup cucumber finely chopped
  6. 1/4 Cup fresh Coriander finely chopped
  7. 1 Tsp ground black pepper
  8. 1 Tsp salt (to taste)
Instructions
  1. Cut the Avocado, by running the knief vertically around the fruit , it has a round seed inside which you will not be able to cut.
  2. Scoop out the mushy flesh with a spoon in a bowl
  3. Mash the Avocado with a fork or a potato masher
  4. Put all the rest of the ingredients into the mashed avocado and mix
  5. Taste the Guacamole, and adjust for salt or lime juice if needed
Notes
  1. 1) Use Ripe Avocados only ,else you will not be able to mash it properly
  2. 2) I must say adding the finely chopped green chili adds to the taste (don't avoid it ,if possible)
